Gardiner Property Tax Discount Program

Income and Eligibility Requirements:

• Aged 65 or older
• Owned a house in Gardiner for 10 years or more
• Taxes are paid in full
• Filed the 2022 Property Tax Fairness Credit and received a credit

If all eligibility requirements are met, then you could receive a refund of $100 to $500.

To apply, complete the Property Tax Relief Application(PDF, 153KB) and return it to City Hall.

Items Needed With Your Application:

1. Proof of Residency: Copy of a utility bill, tax form, or driver license
2. Proof of Age: Birth certificate, driver license, state ID, or passport
3. Most recent Form 1040ME Property Tax Fairness Credit
