Beginning October 6, 2025 the eastern end of Summer Street at the intersection with Bridge Street will be closed. This is a temporary measure to mitigate safety concerns for the construction of a multi-unit residential structure located at 1 Summer Street. The Summer Street is expected to reopen before the end of December.
During the closure vehicles on Summer Street will not have access to Bridge Street and should use Winter Street for entering and leaving the area. Pedestrians will have safe access around the closed off section of the street.
Gardiner police and fire departments are aware of this change and do not have concerns for emergency access to the area.
Thank you for your patience during this brief interruption. Once complete, the Iron Heights multi-unit building will ad 32 new housing opportunities in downtown Gardiner and support the local economy.
