City of Gardiner residents can purchase tickets for curbside collection of bulky items, metals, leaves and brush by the Public Works Department. Universal waste, or electronics, can be collected for an additional fee. Each voting district will have its own collection week.

Tickets are required and can be purchased for $30 at Gardiner City Hall. Universal Waste (electronics) can be collected for an additional $15 charge per item. For questions, call City Hall for more information at 207-582-4200 ext. 1101.

Tickets will be available beginning March 23, 2026.

Accepted Materials

Metals: including appliances

Bulky Items: including furniture, stereos, etc.

Leaves: must be in paper bags

Brush: Under 2" in diameter

Please separate like items into piles so that Public Works employees do not have to sort through and separate. Household items may be piled together.

Universal Waste

Additional $15 per item, paid at time of ticket purchase

Desktop printers, televisions, CPUs, computer monitors

Items Not Accepted

Tires or vehicle batteries
Fluorescent light bulbs
Freon (no refrigerators or air conditioners)
Liquids, chemicals, paints, or hazardous wastes
Objects larger than which two men could reasonably load


Collection Schedule

District 1: April 27 - April 30th (pink ticket)

District 2: May 4-7 (yellow ticket)

District 3: May 11-14 (blue ticket)

District 4: May 18-21 (orange ticket)
